the tax code. the tax code is preferential for some people in some income levels and some circumstances and then other people talk about the marriage penalty under the tax code and it's not preferential. so i will stay away from the tax code, because the tax code is extremely confusing. and i don't think it's the real issue here. i'd love to see the tax code issue resolved. in the meantime, i'm much more interested in seeing lesbian and gay families be recognized and treated fairly by the government. host: president in his inaugural address earlier this week addressed the issue. the first time the word gay was used in an inaugural address. here's a portion of his speech.
